Incorrect Match Using Auto-Detection

description

Just as a general post to any who view this. I am aware that sometimes the application will incorrectly match a track (sometimes by a little, sometimes it's way out in left field). So I wish to take this moment to say that after doing an auto-detection, you should double-check what data was pulled in by the application and verify it. This is more likely to occur on songs that are covers. The only reason that I can come up with for this is a shortfall in the Last.FM fingerprint client as it only scans using a portion of the song instead of the entire song for efficiency reasons. For more information about the Last.FM fingerprint client please see http://blog.last.fm/2010/07/09/fingerprint-api-and-app-updated.

UPDATE: This has gotten significantly better in v1.3.0.0 of the software. Do, however, still review songs that you think may have been affected by this. The types of songs to look out for are songs that are covers by a different band and songs that are particularly "indie."
